I was up till the wee hours of the morning last night. I was not wired but definitely awake. As everyone in the house was sleeping, I started reading. Going through the scriptures time after time did HIS faithfulness prove Him worthy of the praise. He always made a way when there seemed to be no way. From splitting the Red Sea to create a way of escape, opening baron wombs for creating nations, to raising people from the dead! HE always makes a way out of no way. Hence the verse in Mark 10:27 that says, But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Going through the hard times are indeed hard when your focus is on the problem and not the problem solver.
Reflecting on HIS goodness during a storm seems counter-intuitive but the thing is it shifts your focus off of you and whatever you are going through and places the focus on Him. The Deliverer, the Provider, the Defender, the Perfect Peace. I currently have plenty of reason to allow my mind to wander in the “What if’s,” since I took a bold step of faith and left a place of employment that I was thriving in. The loss of income in itself was significant. The people and tenure I had there were hard to leave behind. But I choose to place my focus on Him and TRUST that He has already made a way for me. And even if things may get difficult, I’ll take the opposition and make it into opportunities to grow. Perspective is everything. Are you a glass half empty or half full kind of person?
My prayer today is that you take note that God is worthy of your focus. He is worthy of being praised. He woke you up this morning. You didn’t even have to ask for your heart to beat or for your next breath. That alone is worth thanking Him. I’ve heard the question posed before, “If you woke up today and only had what you thanked God for the day before, what would you have?” That’s deep and scary at the same time. You may or may not know that we are not promised tomorrow, so what are you doing today? You may be in the middle of a difficult season right now but I challenge you to shift your focus and know that GOD is able to carry you to the other side of this. Through the proverbial Red Sea if you will. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking - (James 1:5 NLT) He longs to hear from you.
