Happy Valentines Day Comadres! Or shall I say Happy GALentines day for my single ladies?! Do you even know what a “Comadre” is? It’s a latinas way of saying my ride or die, my BFF, or my friend like family. Either way, I’m so excited to introduce myself here and share that this is the official launch of the Comadres in Reverence blog!! My name is Perlita Ruiz and I am the wife to my wonderful husband, Joey, of almost 13 years in two short weeks!! Whoop! Whoop! I am the mother of one of the most sweetest teenage boys you would ever meet, Benjamin. That doesn’t sound right does it? A sweet teenager? LOL!! But seriously, he is. Lastly, I’ve been blessed as of February 2022 in the raising of, and soon to adopt, my 8 year old niece Abby, after the sudden passing of my big sister and best friend, Nancy, a single mother.
I’m a creative and I have the heart of an entrepreneur and an encourager. For years I have always had the heart tug to write, and I have dozens of journals to prove it. I want to use this platform to share my gifting, alongside my life’s testimony and experiences, to show you that my inability to overcome life’s battles, struggles, and hangups on my own, did in fact change when I surrendered it all to GOD’s ABILITY to lead me to victory.
For my non-latinas out there, my name Perlita literally means “little pearl,” and like a pearl, I have been cultivated with purpose! Life’s irritations formed me into something precious to be worn as a testament of value and to show that something beautiful can come from such a dark process. When you feel alone, baby girl, let me tell you that you are not; in fact you are covered in His presence. I’m a voice for those who are where I used to be. We all have a story to share so that the ones going through it can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m here for you and I welcome you to the Comadres in Reverence community.
