Yielded to His Love

Yesterday, I talked a bit about being tired. Tired of the weight of the shield that’s blocking the flying arrows of accusation that are coming at you constantly. So much so, you just want to yield. Have you been there? Just so tired of fighting or standing your ground to defend yourself that you’re willing to give in? Today I want to speak on what it means to be yielded. Not to the problems you’re facing but being yielded to God. Accepting the position of surrender to your Savior and allowing His love to minister life back into you. Let’s take a look at two big things that shake us from being yielded to God’s love to begin with.

1. Anxiety

That is almost a no brainer, right? Anxiety infects your perspective of God’s love for you. When anxiety comes in, we in essence are putting away our amor of God and yielding our thoughts over to anxiety and making it an idol. We give it reign over the territory of our life. Stress and insecurity flood our every waking moment to a point of physical ramifications. It sours our stomachs, creates insomnia, ulcers, high blood pressure, and hair loss just to name a few. Anxiety has these hook-like roots that embed deep into our mind called DOUBT. It corrupts your belief and ability to overcome the problem. Depressing, I know! But what does God’s word say on this? It’s simply stated, “Be anxious for nothing.”

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

2. Prayerlessness

Prayerlessness creates lies. Yielding your prayer life over, leaves you exposed to believing what you face is greater than the God you serve. As we just read in Philippians 4:6-7, it states the steps to take to achieve being anxious for nothing and what comes from it.

  • in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

  • and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Being in a yielded posture of love and gratitude sets you up for constant communion with the Lord. God longs to hear from us. As we come to Him in everything, with thanksgiving, He pours His love on us, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and mind. As we pray, we’re protected. That’s a divine exchange! This again shows and proves the immeasurable love He has for us!

Join me in yielding to His love, my friend.

“Don’t grow weary in doing good, because in due season you will reap a harvest if you don’t lose heart.” - Galatians 6:9

Stay encouraged and rest in His love for you. Come fiery darts and all; know you won’t be defeated. Don’t ever forget that His love for you is everlasting. That’s for all eternity! He loves us so much He provides us mercy. Psalms 51:1 And His mercy is from everlasting to everlasting. Psalms 103:17 In His love He redeems us. Isaiah 63:9 I can go on and on with scripture showing the love that He has for us. Carry these truths with you. God is for you.

Father, I thank you for all that you have done for me, all that you are doing and all that you have yet to do. You are a good, good Father. Regardless of how many times we allow anxiety to take root with doubt in our minds, you are faithful to hear our cries as we come back to You. We yield to your lovingkindness. We yield to your love for us. Give us the divine exchange that only You can do. Beauty for ashes, strength for fear, gladness for mourning and peace for despair. Give us peace beyond all understanding and the assurance of whose we are. Yours! In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
